Almost unheard of in Japan, Minakami Kogen encompasses over 1,600 acres of resort property.

At an altitude of over 1,000 meters there is an abundance of natural terrain, and stunning views to be had from almost every vantage.

The resort is situated almost exactly between the Pacific Ocean and the Japan Sea, inducing a large and high quality snowfall every year.

This season our ski resort has set two main goals, first to be even more family friendly than ever, and second, to re-introduce ex-skiers back to the slopes.

For families, we have set up a new children’s course, with sized down banks, waves, slaloms and a variety of attractions along the way. As they concentrate on the easily navigable obstacles, children naturally acquire the skills to turn and stop. There is also a sledding hill, kids snowmobiles, snow tubing, and snow rafting for the whole family.

Return to Ski is our re-introduction program geared towards senior skiers. For skiers that have drifted away from the sport, or are interested in learning how to ski on carving skis, we’ve introduced the easy to turn mid-ski rental, school, and seniors club programs.

Inside the hotel is the Select Shop which caters to skiers and snowboarders alike.
